The Baroque three-winged chateau was built during the reign of the Břevnov abbot Benn Löbl in the years 1738 - 1740 on the site of an old Renaissance chateau from the 16th century of the Žďár family from Žďár. The reconstruction took place according to the plans of the architect Kilián Ignác Dientzenhofer. In the interior, the chapel of St. Lawrence from 1740, decorated with murals by Jan Karel Kovář and sculptor Karel Josef Hiernl. In the historical rooms of the chateau you can see the permanent exhibitions Prehistory of Kladno and From the Fortress to the Baroque Chateau. In 1974, with the help of the Mining Rescue Station, a model of a mining workplace with an exhibition on the history of Kladno mines was built in the cellar under the chateau. An attractive part of the garden since September 2001 is the bear enclosure.

Unfortunately, it was closed. Like everything at this time. But the surroundings are nice and the bears (January) we saw here.

Kladno Castle looks very nice in the evening light, as well as the adjacent Medvědárium.
