Nice sacred place.
Michal Sochor (09/11/2017)
The place is hidden in a bend and unfortunately a little undignified adjoins the building complex. But it certainly has its charm.

The Prince's Tomb of the Fürstenbergs in Nižbor is an underground building from 1787, founded after the banning of Joseph II. bury in churches. The Fürstenbergs belonged to Nižbor from the first half of the 18th century. until 1929. Originally, they were to rest in the underground space under the castle church of the Exaltation of St. Crisis. 14 people were buried in the tomb and the tomb's own underground space is inaccessible today. The whole area is dominated by a large cast iron cross with a gilded figure of Christ, which was cast around 1860 in the former princely foundries in nearby Nový Jáchymov. On the neo-Gothic pedestal, there is a New Testament inscription from the Gospel of John in German. The staircase to the tomb is covered by a quarter-ton cast iron plate with the Fürstenberg coat of arms and a Latin inscription. The tomb itself consists of a small horizontally partitioned space. It is believed that it originally consisted of several floors. The triangular pink marble monument stood on the tomb until 1824, then it was placed in the chateau and in the early 1990s it was re-planted in the area of the tomb, closer to the entrance gate. Just a few meters from it, the park area is decorated with a cast iron figure of an angel. In the 1950s and 1960s, the tomb was looted several times. In 2014, it was reconstructed and at the same time the complex was completely renovated. During the reconstruction, the coffins with the remains were stored in the crypt of the castle chapel. At the burial ground, at the bend of Křivoklátská Street, there is a column with a statue of St. John of Nepomuk in the rural Baroque style.
