The nature reserve with an area of 56.79 ha surrounding the steep and rugged slopes of the Čížov hill (with an altitude of 433 meters) was declared in 1990. The reason for protection is flowering beeches and rubble forests with rich undergrowth. You can find it in the Benešov Hills, north of Týnec nad Sázavou, at the confluence of the Sázava and Kamenický streams. Geomorphologically, the hill belongs to the Central Bohemian Uplands. The ruins of the Zbořený Kostelec castle are located on the watchtower at the south-western edge of the reservation. In flowery beeches and hornbeams you can find white-flowering protected long-leaved dwarf, large-flowered honeysuckle, fragrant coot, or ostrich feather fern.
