This impressive place, located in the Bohušovice basin, a few hundred meters from the main square of Terezín, was used as a burial place in individual or collective graves of the victims of the ghetto, while crematorium ovens were being built. It did not become operational for a year, and in such a short period it welcomed the bodies of 9,000 inhabitants of the ghetto. Once World War II ended, this space was developed architecturally, presenting itself today as a garden that integrates into the surrounding landscape.
