A little gem of a fabric and yarn store. Wall to wall and floor to ceiling stacked with bolts of fabric and wall of yarn. I was there to find some Czech yarn to take home as a souvenir. I was not disappointed. Alot of the skeins had no information attached to them, so it was an educated guess to what I was buying but I got quite a haul for £36, all unique to what I'd found elsewhere.

The people at MarLen really know what they are doing. I went in with a project already in mind and generally knew what I needed at the store, but I got great advice and was helped to find exactly what materials I would need for my project.

Firstly, of all the fabric is expensive, however, the superb material quality and unique selections warrant the prices. I highly recommend treating yourself to something really special. Secondly, the owner was friendly and welcoming with outstanding English. I would highly recommend you include MarLen's on the itinerary if you're in Prague.

I found a very nice fabric, the piece I got to see was grey and the price was 3300 per meter. I wanted 70 cm from a pink, which was up on a shelf 3 m up. It was too high up for the lady so she asked the man to climb a ladder to bring it down. He took it down and said: it was only 1,2 m and I could get it for the price of 1 m. So I accepted. However: When I stepped outside in daylight the color wasn’t pink, it was Brown. So I turned around and wanted a pink. He said they don’t have it in pink. I wanted to return the fabric I bought less than 3 minutes before (remember he never cut it into a smaller) and he refused. He claimed it was too difficult to return, Sue to the cash register. He only accepted a change to another color. So I changed to a color I didn’t want. I got 1 m. When I looked at the receipt I saw he charged me 200 more per meter. So it was a very expensive experience. 3500 for a fabric I didn’t want. 😞
