What a beautiful place to enjoy a local beer while admiring the stunning views of the surrounding area and listening to relaxing music produced from Vltava river. Even though it was a busy day the staff was extra polite and friendly and the meal was fantastic!

Be aware: check your invoice before you pay! See the attached photo. Food is OK, but not worth the money. Prices are very high for this kind of place. But the total is even higher in approx 13%!!! They said that the difference appeared because of "service fee"... Of course, I refused to pay it. So, to summarize: simple food and provincial cafe interior for luxurious prices... For the business holders: if you want to increase prices - write full prices in menu, or make a big notice of the "service fee". Otherwise it looks like cheating and will affect your reputation...

While the traditional Czech food here tasted quite good and was well cooked, the overall experience was actually a big let down. When the bill amount exceeds your calculations and its hand-written you can't help but suspect something's wrong. The staff didn't seem to full understand when i tried to clarify if the cream on the hot chocolate was going to be charged excess or not, and it was only revealed in the bill as an additional charge. They also add a 12% service charge in the final amount. The ambience is actually quite good, they even have a good view such a pity that the billing experience was bad.

Lovely place for traditional czech food and beer whilst taking in the views of Charles Bridge

We went to this Bridge Restaurant, upon our first day of arrival to Prague. We ordered two beers, one sausage and pork knuckle. We asked for the bill and it was hand-written but not printed from the machine registers. The bill is as follows: 2 Beers $198.00 1 Sausage $179.00 1 Pork Knuckle $369.00 ---------- $858.00 But the total is $858.00. All is in local currency. When we asked why the total not add up, the Server said the difference is Service Charge. 15% of service charge was added. The bill is hand written on a piece of small brown paper , not machine printed from the Cash Register. No Company Seal or identifications. We paid $860.00 but with a question in mind. When we checked with our Tour Guide, the Tour Guide said it is uncommon to have Service Charge added without being listed or showed in the bill. The Server there did it on purpose to disguise the added unannounced service charge. We are being cheated and the Bridge Restaurant over charge us. We don't mind to pay service charge as this is the hard work a server deserve but we want it to be honestly disclosed on the bill and not doing it under the table as a SURPRISE. It is not the money, it is the feeling that hurts. We will not recommend and will not return as you need to be prepared to do your surveillance to the bill after you had the meal. The food is ok. It just the feeling of being cheated is not good at all. They are not honest and the service is okay like a regular pub. Not recommend.
