Kaple Svatého Floriána

It is one of the most picturesque place in this city... The view to whole city is amazing from there and the Chapel is very nice. A nice and nature walk through the forest leads uphill to the Chapel of St. Florian. You can enjoy a view to the devil's stone which is in this forest near the Chapel. I can only highly recommend to visit this place!

Pilgrimage Chapel of St. Florián from 1695 in Moravský Krumlov stands on a hill above the town. It was dedicated to St. Florian, whom the citizens of the town chose as the patron saint of the town after a devastating fire in 1690. To the chapel, built as the Thanksgiving of St. Florian, the legend of the rescue of Prince Antonín Florian of Lichtenstein applies. He once returned from the hunt, his horses were frightened during the storm and miraculously stopped at the edge of the cliff. In memory of his rescue, the prince had a chapel built on the hill. Since then, the name "Floriánek" has been used for the hill.

Beautiful building on a high slope above Moravský Krumlov. Unfortunately, the chapel was closed, the interior would interest us.
