Valtice - Městský úřad

The first mention of the town hall in Valtice dates back to the end of the 14th century. This original town hall served its purpose until 1763, when it was destroyed by fire. The fire of that year was very extensive and destroyed a large number of homes. Nevertheless, a year later, the town hall was new, this time at a place where we can find it today. The City Hall's fast position enabled the help of Prince Josef of Liechtenstein, as well as the help of local craftsmen and tradesmen. The town hall was built between 1887 and 1889 by Jan Drechsler and nearly half of the construction costs were paid by Jan II of Liechtenstein and the savings bank. The original town hall and one of the neighboring homes were demolished, and a new town hall was built in one year's time. In the second half of the 19th century. the town hall was partly rebuilt, but at the end of the 19th century. it was decided to build a new town hall. The main reason for the construction of the new town hall was the necessity of building a new building of the district court, otherwise Valtice would lose that privilege of the justice center. The great merit of the building of the town hall and the court building was the then mayor Karel Haussner.

Just horrible, TIC moved to the castle, two unpleasant workers who pretend to bother them, do not advise anything, offer enough souvenirs, no tourist stamps, we were shocked. In contrast, in the Museum of Winery pleasant, smiling lady.
