Kostel sv. Jiljí

Chropyně Church of Saint Giles is included in the state list of cultural monuments. The tabernacle is displayed in the Baroque style, called Josefínský, and was built by Olomouc archbishop Maximilian Hamilton in 1772 - see its emblem on the vault in front of the chancel. I was especially interested in the history of the organ. The first mention of them is from 1844, when they were allegedly purchased from Antonín Hanačík in Zlín and played for the first time on March 11th. In 1942, a new, two-manual organ was made by J. Melzer in Kutná Hora. They "finished" in 1996 on the basis of unprofessional and hasty behavior and at that time very cruel intervention destroyed. Viscount digital organs were purchased in 1999. You will certainly agree with me if I wish them a long musical life.
