One of the two churches in Starý Plzenec, less known than the one directly on the square. However, it is definitely interesting, the architecture of the church is nice and the adjacent garden is beautiful.

The Church of the Nativity (kostel Narození Panny Marie) is the parish church in the Altpilsen district Lesser Town (Malá Strana). The originally Romanesque church was redesigned in the 14th century.

The Gothic Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary dates from the middle of the 14th century, when it replaced the original Romanesque church from 992, which was probably destroyed in 1280 by the mercenaries of Otto of Brandenburg. Later it was modified in the Renaissance and Baroque style.
