Nice little old chapel. There is a bench and table for a rest in the immediate vicinity.

The small neo-Gothic chapel has its origins in 1681 and was built after a failed robbery on the carriage of the Gerolstein family of counts. In the turmoil of war, the count's family fled to Bohemia and the chapel fell into disrepair, and was later rebuilt thanks to a Gerolstein family. The little Marienkapelle is very popular as a place of pilgrimage with the citizens of Gerolstein. The little church is idyllically embedded in the middle of the Gerolstein forest. Definitely worth seeing.

In "the middle of nowhere" you suddenly come across a prayer chapel during your walk. Is well maintained.
