The Vorwerker Friedhof is the largest (53 hectares) in Lübeck. The cemetery is good for walks. There are two outhouses in the cemetery. One of them is handicapped accessible. A very impressive place are the graves of the "Lübeck vaccination accident" from 1930/1931.

Really beautifully designed. Very large. Is also suitable for walking.

If you see the park in the cemetery it is nicely laid out, but if you are looking for a specific place within the cemetery it is difficult to find your way around. Too extensive, too badly signposted. That should definitely be improved!

Vanitas mundi ..... The transience of everything that exists ...... The Vorwerker Friedhof Lübeck was designed in 1905/1906 by Erwin Barth as a garden cemetery and expanded in 1926 according to the plans of the municipal garden architect Harry Maasz. A wonderful old stock of trees in a very spacious park cemetery invites you to walk and linger. From my point of view a special meditative place in the middle of the city. Dr. Gerald Kaiser
