The canteen and furnishings are okay, you can't have any claims. The home manager is competent and you can talk objectively about questions and problems with her. It is not the director of the home, he is not in any way under control and is an imposition for everyone who has to spend the night in this boarding school. That this person should take care of wards is negligent in my opinion.

The home management cannot even read their own presentation. The toilets and showers are from the 70s. The toilet water drains more badly than well. There is warm water in the shower only when no one is showering 4 rooms outside, but you can hear whether someone is showering or not. The internet (WLAN) works a bit on 2 out of 7 days. It is sad nowadays that in the 21st century they are still at the pre-war level and that technology is advertised at a HWK. Nobody knows who is really responsible for something here. Any food not eaten at breakfast or dinner must be thrown away. If you make 2 loaves of bread, eat only one and want to take the other one to your room, you are not allowed to do that. Food is better thrown in the garbage instead of the tenants getting something from it later. The caretaker acts like the boss and tries to push everyone in. He is allowed to use the entrance as an exit and turned around, but takes the right to turn others on for it. The blocked parking area for the fire service access may only be used by the caretaker's friend. Thought nobody was allowed to park, but Mr. Janitor and Co. KG have special rights. Generally not a place I want to be again.

During my time as a master class student from January to September, I lived in the boarding school. The canteen was clean and the food plentiful and good and adequate for a canteen. The rooms are a bit small and a bit old, (that's why I subtract a star) but toilet and shower in the room. Price-performance ratio is ok. The staff friendly to me. The boarding school administrator on site is technically competent, helpful, always had an ear and a quick solution. He takes the boarding school rules very carefully, which contributes to a quiet night. (PS. There are noisy students only during the day). The rooms on the outside walls are the quietest. The boarding school management was overwhelmed and less helpful. The cleaners did their job well and repairs were done quickly. The TV, table football and study rooms were closed due to Corona during my time. The proximity to the BTZ and on-site parking should be mentioned. I hope I could give you some insight.

A great place to stay, just fun to live here, my colleague F. and R. have here the fun of their lives and enjoy especially the loose rules of the boarding school. Here you feel comfortable while learning and can know and love the Bayreuth philosophy of life.
