These are the best vets in Bayreuth! Not overpriced at all, rather modern medicine for the whole family!
The people who are complaining that it is “too expensive” don’t actually take pet ownership seriously and don’t seriously acknowledge that medical care is not just possible and available for human beings, rather all animals. Such cheap people just probably just opt for a houseplant or a pet rock.
This post is long, but my experience with these wonderful people must be know to Bayreuth, the internet, and the world!
My dear sweet 12 year old kitty fell 9 meters from the 2nd floor window at midnight on 15 Oktober 2018. When I discovered him outside, his front feet were swollen, bending in a weird way, one of them was just flopping around, and blood was coming out of his nose and mouth. It was like scenes from Hell; it was a living nightmare. We went to the Notdienst that night, and got him stabilized, but that vet was not competent. He took care of the shock, but actually completely missed his lightthreatening injury! Fast forwarding 8 hours, I took him to the Tierklinik für Kleintiere. I had adopted him, and he came with an Impfpass from the Tierklinik, so even though I had heard that I should look for another vet because they’re “expensive”, I went, and I AM SO GLAD THAT I DID. They saw me same day because it was an emergency, and then Herr Dr. Wiegand did his examination. He told me that he had one lifethreatinging injury, a Gaumenspalte (WHICH THE NOTTIERARZT HAD COMPLETELY MISSED, EVEN THROUGH HE HAD LOOKED DIRECTLY IN HIS MOUTH SEVERAL TIMES), a broken canine tooth, and he had torn all of the ligaments in his right front wrist joint. He got an anatomy book and diagrams out and completely explained the physics of cat falls and how this injury occurred. The kitty’s leg was literally disgusting to look at, it flopped around like a spaghetti noodle, and he couldn’t walk at all. The remedy for this would be Arthodese- a 2.5 hour long surgery to fuse the joint together by screwing a titanium plate into the bone to stabilize the joint forever. He told me that it was highly fixable, but that it would be a very expensive surgery- 2.000EU. I immediately started crying because I’m a student and could obviously not afford that. I starting looking into my little kitty’s eyes and apologizing for the euthanasia that I would have to give him because I couldn’t afford to fix him. Herr Dr. Wiegand immediately sprang into action and said that even though my kitty is older (12 years), he is a very fit cat, and that euthanasia isn’t actually an appropriate treatment for these wounds because he believed he could heal. Frau Grießinger talked to the billing company, argued my case, and then I was approved for Ratenzahlung! Thus began the 2 month long process of taking my little friend to the vet for surgeries, bandage changes, and check up. Herr Dr. Wiegand performed all of the surgeries (Gauenspalte repair, root canal for broken tooth, and athrodese on the leg) and monitored his progress. Fachtierarzt Herr Dubinskiy did most of the bandage changes. I literally went to Herr Dubinskiy about 25 times/2-3 times a week, and he told me “if the bandage rubs or falls off, come back,” and there wasn’t a single time that the bandage was incorrectly done. Considering my kitty’s injuries, Her Dubinskiy played a HUGE role in the care/aftercare. Every time Frau Grießinger and Herr Dubinskiy would send me off with packs of food and baggies of treats. I saw most of the Azubis as well, and I am just so pleased with the care my pet received and the emotional support the entire staff gave me. I’m a US American, so I have NO PROBLEM with filing complaints, and I literally don’t have a single one for this business. Herr Dr. Wiegand and his team truly care about and value all kinds of life. My kitty is now healed and doing AMAYINGLY! He’s a very fit, strong cat and because of Dr. Wiegand, I didn’t have to choose between life and money. He is the only reason why my best friend is still alive, and I will be forever grateful to him forever
Very compassionate and competent. They were able to find answers my local vet could not. Thank you.
Great experience, easy appointments.
That was a sentence with "X" today. I had an appointment at 6:00 p.m. and arrived at 5:50 p.m. At the reception I was told that the appointment would be postponed by half an hour. I could then go with the dog again, everything was fine. I was back at 6:20 pm. At 7.15pm I asked when it would be my turn because I had been sitting alone in the practice since 6.45pm. I was told that it had to be asked because: "I've been sitting there with my dog for a long time". After asking the vet, I was told that I would have to wait another 20 minutes. I don't mind waiting times, emergencies can always happen. I have something against absolutely underground bad communication. Especially when I see veterinarians leaving the practice while I'm waiting with the announcement: I'll come back later. The doctors are certainly competent and concerned about the welfare of the animals, but that was rather cheeky today. Oh yes, my dog has not been treated.
Our Luna was with V.a. Tumors referred to the Bayreuth Veterinary Center by the local TA. Ultimately, she had fibroadenomas and no tumors.
Luna was neutered there and we were absolutely thrilled how quickly she was back on her feet. 👍 The adenomas have also developed, as reported by Dr. Dubinskiy predicted fully formed back.
Based on our experience, we recently had our Nala neutered there. She was also in a good mood that same day. 😂
In terms of price, it wasn't more expensive than the local vet, but we really feel more comfortable there. Our two older women were neutered by the local vet and lay flat for almost a week.
The whole team is just great, so we accept the further journey.
Keep it up!!
