Customer service is the last thing: invoices are not sent, bookings are mixed up, unfriendliness and availability are not even mentioned. Worst of all is the telephone terror when they want to talk you into something again. Stay away and don't give a phone number!

During my studies I became aware of the publisher, who was presented in a lecture. You are forced to buy something once a year, if you don't you will be sent something by chance. Contact with customer service is either very difficult because the lines seem to be permanently occupied or in the most unfriendly way. The selection is also only conditionally recommendable and therefore I cannot make a recommendation. There are simply easier ways to get the books you want.

The in-house bookshop called Literarium is particularly beautiful here, a paradise for friends of the humanities.

I have been a wbg member since the early 1980s. Unfortunately the literature program is inc. the classic has not really been in focus for some years, and the area of ​​literary studies has also fallen behind. Instead, in addition to a lot of marketing fuss and enthusiasm, the area of ​​history and contemporary history is being massively pushed forward. The goal is probably: more debate, more social. Relevance, new younger members. I don't have anything against that, of course. But please not at the expense of the topics mentioned at the beginning. They now have the status of catalog orphans. Too bad. I also find the differentiation in member or, somewhat more expensive, premium member not helpful. All of this together has a somewhat actionistic and unsustainable effect. I am now only a member for reasons of loyalty.
