Gymnasium Dresden-Plauen

Old building, old teachers. Conservative thinking is pretty much dominating. However, democracy at this school is a joke. Also the methods. Make sure to write down every word the teachers say. If you can stupidly repeat the learned in the examinations, you will surely pass and even get yourself a good mark. Freethinkers are mostly not encouraged and knowledge you may get yourself through other sources (books f.e.) is not really accepted, as it is not expected. Some teachers tend to try to influence you in the terms of politics. After and before Trumps election some lessons were pure Trump bashing. The school tries to provide a nice picture of itself, but don't fall for it - the management is pretty keen on public relations, while in fact internal problems are kept hidden and most conflicts between students and teachers never leave the school. Some kind of school culture at the regular base is non-existent, while the events and the homepage tries to make you think, there is one. However, I had also some great moments there too. The school yard is indeed very green and nice to enjoy in nearly any time of the year. The schools lunch is ok. It really improved with time. The school also have a little library in there and some computers. The computer classes are ok too. However the IT-managments kind of sucks in terms of security. There is no real professional support for this and teachers don't really have the time for things like that. I survived the school. However I believe there are better schools in Dresden than this one.

In itself, this school is the best I've seen before. The teachers have a nice way (at least it comes to me so over). For me, this school is still nothing, because I do not get along so well with the people from my class. And because it is a bit boring for me I have not gotten any homework or anything else like I can learn anything except in the classroom. But it bores me when the teachers say everything in an hour. Personally, I am better able to practice at home than in the classroom. In any case, everyone thinks differently but for people who are looking for nice teachers and a lot of information (and much I mean more than in most high schools) at once want to have for these people, this school is perfect.
