Decent little catholic church close to the river.

Closed on Tuesdays, otherwise open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. I was there 3 weeks ago: If you are in the area, you should definitely go in for about 15 minutes and admire the interior of the unusually bright, Gothic church in conjunction with the modern windows. In 1354 the church was consecrated as a hospital church. The choir and nave were built around 1400 in 1493. From 1803 the church served other purposes, including as a penitentiary. It was not consecrated again until 1883. The new glazing of the windows based on designs by Markus Lüpertz is artistically valuable. Outside in front of the choir is his statue "Apollo" from 1989. Starting from this church, Germany's oldest completely preserved Way of the Cross leads to the Michaelsberg.

Unfortunately, I am a little disappointed because I expected a little more 🤔🙁. Nice little church but nothing out of the ordinary 😥. Unfortunately, you cannot visit (Saturday) - thick protective grids are closed 😥👎. Church quite well maintained. Whole tour only 5 minutes. Only three stars from me ⭐⭐⭐ ...
