This branch has registered with DHL as a parcel shop. Explicitly identified "Send package" service. When we wanted to indicate a prepaid package, we were told that only returns are accepted. I think that one generally expects a little more under the "Send package" service than just accepting returns.
Unfriendly staff at the checkout
My 1 year old son was holding a € 5 bill. I wanted to take it off to pay, and a small piece (5 * 5 mm) tore out in front of the cashier's eyes. "I can't take that anymore," she replied immediately, gruffly.
I was amazed and asked.
"Have a look what a big piece is missing!" Was the answer.
As I said, the torn piece was the size of a baby's fingernail.
As far as I know, retailers may very well accept such banknotes and send them back to the Bundesbank in exchange.
A shame, because that would have been service ...
