Bergmannsfriedhof

When you are on the Lahn, you can already hike through the Ruppertsklamm. Friedrichssegen is a few kilometers away. From there a small hiking trail, the Bergmannsweg, which is paved at the beginning, leads to the old miners cemetery. It takes about two hours to get there and back and you come across ancient relics of mining in this valley. You can see tunnel entrances, spoil heaps and hidden lorries. Past the destroyed miners' church, you go a little way into the forest. There are the remains of an old cemetery. Most of the graves are also destroyed. It is nice on the route that there are many signs that tell something about the past. An alternative if the Ruppertsklamm is too crowded.
