The Eigener Markt is a multi-purpose area that is used as a parking lot for shopping on Gladbecker Straße during the week. The weekly market takes place on Friday. The regular feeders are two fish stalls, a fruit and vegetable shop, a butcher and a potato farmer. In addition, there are hawkers with clothes, tablecloths or shoes in alternating cast. The weekly market takes place from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., and masks are required on the entire site. Twice a year there is a district festival on the market square, organized by the Bottrop merchants. In the course of a renovation between 2005 and 2007, the old kiosk was torn down and replaced by a new building with a pizzeria, kiosk, outdoor catering and public toilets. However, the new building was at the expense of the market traders. On market days, it is advisable to use either the small parking lot on Vienkenstrasse or the parking facility on Gladbecker Strasse. The market is very popular with the owners, especially the older population, and is always well attended.
