If you are looking for a roofer who only "armed" the damage armed with a camera from below, then "feels suspicious" when the criticism is voiced and is not sure whether he is the right man for the job and can cancel it the next day to be transferred, then you are in good hands here. If you need a professional, you'd better go somewhere else. Just weird, unprofessional and bad.
