Icon Museum Recklinghausen

Nice

Were in the icon museum today. Very interesting, except that despite the fact that we were both the only visitors, we had to wear mouth protection. There was a stuffy air on all floors so that we didn't stay long today and more visitors (then understandable everyone with mouth nose protectors) are there as the air is Very interesting to look at.

Very nice small and extraordinary museum in a nice building. When we were there, there wasn't much going on, we were almost alone there. So it was very relaxed, we had a lot of time to see the exhibits and read the insightful texts. Especially the upper floor with the archaeological finds was a nice surprise. It was very interesting to learn about the icons and I felt that the staff - who were very friendly and helpful - would have liked to tell you more about them when asked. The entrance fee is completely ok. Due to the beautiful location in the city center, a museum tour can also be followed by a shopping tour or a cafe visit!
