It's not a normal cemetery. Here, artists secured a place during their lifetime and created their own sculpture, which can be found there. You walk through the forest and come across a grave every now and then. The sculptures mostly want to express something, sometimes it's easy, sometimes it's difficult to understand or comprehend. A short hike takes you to the artist-inspired necropolis. It can be reached from many sides and is located near the Blue Lake. For a longer hike you can start at Herkules and go down via Elfbuchen. The necropolis can also be reached from the Silbersee or Rasenallee car park.

Starting from the hiking parking lot in mountain freedom, a circular hike to the artist necropolis is worthwhile! Here the city of Kassel Documenta gave artists the opportunity to document their idea of ​​a resting place in the forest and to be buried!
