Stadtbücherei Vellmar

In just over ten years of visiting the library, I have always experienced, without exception, very friendly, courteous and helpful staff. The range of borrowable books, CDs and DVDs is very well sorted, and you can quickly cope, if you have the well-known to me from other municipal libraries signature system for nonfiction, z. B: BIographies, C = Geography, D = History, E = History, and so on. Within a subject area or subordinate subject area (Cd = Germany, Ce = Europe) one finds the books in alphabetical order of the authors. Novels are also arranged alphabetically according to the names of the authors; children's books and children's books have their own system of signatures, graded according to the age of the reader or viewer. Movies on DVD and audiobooks on CD are set after the first letters of the titles. Employees are diligent in ensuring that returned books and other media can be found on the shelves on the search screen. - Unfortunately, visitors look at books that have been viewed for the sake of interest and have sometimes moved a shelf higher or lower than they have taken it. The search screen also instantly identifies whether a book (or CD or DVD) is "available" or "borrowed." The loan period is three weeks and can be extended by phone or via the Internet up to three times. I am very glad to be able to use this public library Vellmar for the specified opening hours, which are also regularly observed during school holidays. Unfortunately, I can only reward the outstanding work of the employees with all available five stars, ten stars would better express my praise. Paul Göbel M.A.
