I was charged € 103 for a small tear on the spine of the book (approx. 3cm), which could have been easily removed with a strip of adhesive tape. The book costs € 96 new. I think it's a cheek to send such a high bill to a student. It embodies a throwaway policy and is not appropriate. I understand that you want to make it clear to handle the books with care. But that has lost all sense and reason. My complaint in this regard was answered very cheekily and unapologetically. Otherwise, the staff is sometimes very questionable and unfriendly. With exceptions, of course. The entire concept of the bib, especially that of the fees, should urgently be revised and made more customer-friendly (especially student-friendly !!!).

The THD library is not worthy of a scientific institution. LG

Unfortunately, I stained a book with a coffee stain on the edge of the book. I can understand that certain measures are required to remind people to be careful with the books. BUT I was then charged € 50 for a book that actually only costs € 15. I had to reorder the book for the processing costs. (That must have been a complex "processing" ...) I also find it unnecessary, and not exactly sustainable, to buy a completely new book if it only has a small coffee stain. Because of me, they would have rather only asked for a fine and still kept the book. In addition, I find the rules of the bib very questionable at times. You are not even allowed to go in with a slightly thinner jacket (transition jacket) if you are cold and you sit there longer to study. However, a few certain employees are surprisingly friendly, which is nice.

Unfriendly management with student-unfriendly regulations that are devoid of any common sense. The lending and occupancy of learning rooms is not well regulated. Extremely embarrassing dunning policy. It's better to search for an e-book beforehand than this bureaucracy. And here too, there are no more up-to-date e-books on many relevant topics. The PCs are not worthy of a TH. The only plus: the opening hours are extended during the examination phase. Overall, I think that the library needs to be reformed in order to meet the modern requirements of the TH in terms of service and become "customer-friendly". But here justified criticism falls on deaf ears and rigid bureaucracy. This review does not apply to all employees, but to those responsible who are not willing to engage in any dialogue.

to get a library card an absolute impudence of these "library". Renowned universities such as the TUM handle the tam tam without much. Here it takes a 1.5-hour course to borrow books (you go to?!) In addition, poorly positioned. It is not even a normal BGB present. Sad that the THD gets no better library organized.
