SIXT Autovermietung Passau

Terrible service. I rented a car 2x there and both times had a very unpleasant service. The first time I rented a car, I returned it not quite 1 hour late and the person working there charged me for an extra day. When I asked the personal whether I could at least keep the car since I am already paying for that extra day, she said I wasn't since the car is already rented out. Of course after the rental she explaiend to me the 29 minutes leniency rule, but that's after I did my 1st mistake of course. First of all I had no I idea that you'd get charged when you return late. I have only been with Enterprise and there it has never been an issue. Unless it's a busy location and they rent out back to back but usually they would let me know before I drove off. My second rental was even worse I booked it online for 17.00 on a Friday. Once I arrived I saw the door closed, I knocked at it no one opens, then I dialed the sixt help line, and while on the line I decide to knock once again and the personal opens. The rest goes smooth, as I thought, but before I insert my credit card I notice that the price was up by about 50 euros. I ask the gentlemen why and he tells me that I was late by about 5 minutes and they charge after-hours. I tell him first of all i wasn't late, I showed up at exactly 17.00, since I have dialled the sixt help line at 17.01. I show him my phone with the time I made the call but he completely ignores it and persists to believe his own version. ( my phone sets the time automatically, thus it has as much precision as it can get). Secondly I have never been informed that if you book at 17.00 o'clock for business hours that even if I show up hypothetically at 17:00:30 that I would be charged with after hours. I mean I booked it for business hours. So they should be nice enough to wait 5 to 10 minutes for me while still not charging me after-hours, since my booking wasn't made for an after hours service. PLEASE HELP YOURSELF AND STAY AWAY FROM THIS LOCATION/COMPANY. I'd rather pay 5 extra bucks than have surprises like that. Just a thought: If they rent out back to back during corona times then how can they be sure to kill off all the viruses if present. It takes time to clean all the interior. But I cannot make a judgment on that perhaps they are.

Very good Service at Station Passau

Rarely had such an unfriendly and incompetent Sixt station. I rent on a weekly base, but hat more than one occation where they messed up my booking. No personal contact, no customer care, zero service. Getting stuck in Passau is no fun.

Fast and competent processing. Flexible change of the contract (additional day, cancellation of international travel). Very nice service. Gladly again.
