Hiking trail from Passau to the Veste Oberhaus. The route starts on the main road, not far from the city center. There are information boards right at the beginning. After that, it is mostly via stairs to the building, the path is quite steep, but not particularly long. You can be at the top in a few minutes. Of course you can use it in both directions. Once at the top you can go straight to the fortress. The path is ideal if you want to get to the Veste Oberhaus completely free of charge, you can be glad that it is there.

Quick and effective to the Veste upper house Attention the footpath is not cleared in the winter and is not illuminated at night for the weak people and wheelchair users not suitable.

The Ludwigsteig starts right opposite the Prinzregent Luitpoldbrücke. You can reach it via numerous steps to the bastion of the Veste Oberhaus. There is a wonderful view of the Passau old town from here.
