This sauna is conveniently situated close to the station and is therefore another sauna that “Frankfurters” could easily visit as a change from those in their own City. The entrance is via some steep stairs leading to the basement. It is a very large space to fully utilise and requires many people to even give the impression that it is full. Obviously weekends are the busiest as well as monthly parties including the recent addition of “swinger nights” When I visited there were only about 30 people spread over the course of the afternoon – mainly in their 40’s to 60’s with a couple more in their 20’s which were all lost in the vastness of the place. The facilities include two saunas, steam room, a limited amount of cubicles, various cooling off sections and a dedicated smoking room. There is also two small areas showing videos, one with adjacent slings. The only thing missing is a Jacuzzi! This is one of those saunas which holds “Ausguss Rituals” two or three times a week. Foreign visitors find this “macho” practice of shutting oneself in a very hot sauna to try out different essences for about 20 minutes a very strange pastime! This sauna has over 70 different essences to choose from. There is a large bar area serving drinks and snacks. The staff were particularly friendly and helpful and I was made to feel very welcome. Massage is available but not at all times. If in Mainz just give it try as you may be lucky and find the place full

Pleasant there. The price is reasonable. The staff friendly. Contrary to the negative comments, it is clean. The infusion that I took part in was very pleasant and not a circulatory killer. Only with the cabins could the option for more light be appropriate. The steam room is kept dark for a good reason ^ ^ but even so is a dark steam room a nice change.

Found the music in the quiet room zulaut, especially since you also hear the radio. Too bad, otherwise cool sauna.
