I report on the case of a friend who, as an inexperienced, needy pensioner, and a newcomer in litigation, had asked Ms. Lecherman for help in a separation dispute. Here are the facts summarized, from my point of view as a friendly, but not self-affected consultant who has experienced all the correspondence, sms traffic and one of the two meetings: 1. In the initial conversation, the RAin gave no information about legal fees and their dependence on the value in dispute (fees for lawyers). Unfortunately, I did not participate in this conversation, otherwise everything would have been different. 2. No written attorney's contract has been submitted by the court, no solicitation request for an agreed list of individual mandates, and no clear written statement of such a mandate list initiated by the lawyer. 3. Sufficient expertise in family law seems to exist with Ms. Lechermann, which I found when attending the second meeting, which we had applied for to determine and limit the costs. 4. Unfortunately unauthorized increase by the RAin the value in dispute by bringing in unauthorized issues, including credit for the amount in dispute of things that the RAin itself had declared as unenforceable. 5. No engagement on the part of the RAin on a fair and agreed upon determination of the mandate, value in dispute, and thus on the costs according to fee scale for lawyers. 6. Failure of the RAin to seek arbitration from the client and myself before the RA Chamber of Munich. 7. Application for a cost-claim by the RAin at Coburg District Court, without any willingness to compromise regarding the amount of costs, (in my estimation, knowing that the non-expert client will give up at this point, as an opposition would automatically be heard in court). Now you can imagine what my recommendation and that of the client to the reader of this review is. Just count the stars and you know ....
