One of the nice things to do while visiting the Weihenstephan in Freising is to spend a bit of time in the University gardens situated atop the hill and near the brewery. We liked was the Parterre Garden, finding it to be attractive and pleasant to see during our summer visit.
This is a walled in garden that used to be called the box garden. You'll find paved areas with flowerbeds, a handful of park benches and quite space to enjoy. It is a nice place for a rest after your walk up to Weihenstephan brewery area. There is another very nice Oberdieck Garden nearby that is also worth a visit if you enjoy seeing a variety of roses and other flowers.
