We are a base Weir in the district of Emmendingen. Fire service The volunteer fire department Emmendingen celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2010 and is one of seven base fire departments of the district of Emmendingen, which is responsible for the defensive fire protection and technical accident assistance and other incidents (disaster risks). Our team consists of 3 trains and currently counts 70 comrades. After the passing of the long-time town fireman and deputy district fireman Karlo Rieth in March 2012, the fire brigade Emmendingen is now under the leadership of town fireman Ralf Kesselring and his deputy Alwin Schlegel. So we are there 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, volunteering for security and quick help in case of danger for our citizens. The age team currently has 12 "active" comrades who support us to the best of our ability. Scope / field of application As a base fire brigade, we have special duties and obligations to the citizens of the city of Emmendingen and the surrounding communities (Freiamt, Malterdingen, Sexau and Teningen). Within the dangerous goods we are responsible for the detection of chemical and biological hazardous substances as well as radiological radiation.
