Good service, but expensive products

I just went to the bookstore and did some of my Christmas shopping - - so no small bill - and am surprised how little service retailers can afford! Since I am no longer the youngest and disabled, a little help with packing and leaving the shop would have been very desirable. So with a walking stick in my left hand I had to try to juggle 2 calendars, 3 books, 1 newspaper and a small item with my "two" right hands into a bag I had brought with me. Everything slipped away ... In order not to "slump" myself, I clumsily squeezed the stuff into the bag, and I still want to give it away! Nobody asked if it should be packed or if I would like a bag (& service) or if I would have needed help in the shop (you can see the walking stick !!), even opened the door for me, with all "three" hands full !!! The shop wasn't overcrowded, but maybe the ladies were hungry for lunch and were weakened ?! Although I actually like to support retailers, the next books / calendars / CDs will be ordered over the Internet! - - - even after the lock down
