Home-cooked food. I had the Sülze, and I now know that is one of the weirdest foods an American can eat. Value was not so great.

Great food and beer. Nice people. The server knew no English, and there was no English menu, so be prepared if you don't know much German.

Winkelkrug is a hidden restaurant in the center of Meißen just below the Albrechtsburg. The food is typical home cooking and tasty and largely inexpensive. The service is very nice. The food came within 15 minutes. Top performance.

Great restaurant, a bit hidden but all the more delicious. The menu features a good selection of Saxon dishes and down-to-earth home cooking. The prices are more than fair and cheap. From the seat you can catch a glimpse of the Albrechtsburg. In this restaurant the boss still cooks himself. I had a jelly bowl (Saxon farmer's jelly) with fried potatoes, very tasty and filling, with a regional dark beer from Meissen.
