A very nice, high quality hotel in the heart of the Bavarian Forest. The rooms are nice, the service is friendly and professional, and the food is excellent. We have vacationed there several times and have always been very satisfied.
There are many excursion opportunities there, but you shouldn't expect too much from the village of Bodenmais itself. With the exception of a few shops and restaurants on the busy main street, not much is happening there, the actually beautiful old town center is somewhat oppressive and morbid because it seems deserted, since most of the retail stores there have given up and you walk through streets in which It feels like yellowed "clearance sale" signs are hanging in the empty shop windows on every second house. The hotel itself is absolutely first class and with the "luxury board concept" there is no reason to leave the hotel for a long time.
One of my favorite hotels with fine cuisine, comfortably furnished. Unfortunately no snow-sure area. Never stayed here in summer.
