Probably the best French restaurant in Hamburg. Decent wine menu, terrific food and extraordinary service. Always love to go to the “Le Play du Jour” - especially for lunch. Don’t forget to get a reservation if you go there for dinner!

cute little french restaurant. staff was overly friendly, I almost missed the rudeness of a typical parisian waiter. our waiter actually had an italian accent. nothing against italians, it's just that I came to a french restaurant. the foie gras was a special, served in a heavy cranberry sauce with pears. it was fantastic. probably the best foie gras I've had. really too bad it's not part of regular menu. the main course was a bit oversalted and while desert was pretty good, it wasn't too far from what I would describe as mediocre. I couldn't help but feel like being in a northern german's idea of a french restaurant. if you're from hamburg and haven't been to paris but love french quisine — this restaurant is perfect for you. for the rest of us, it's a decent french restaurant. not sure if I would come here again myself but I would recommend it someone who wants to go to a fancy restaurant in Hamburg but doesn't actually have any idea of what a really great restaurant is.

Good average restaurant. Staff was very knowledgeable, friendly and had the entire menus of the day very well memorized. Would have preferred a written version though, because it was quite difficult to follow up. Food itself was quite ok, however nothing outstanding, except dessert. Atmosphere was authentic and enjoyed the furniture and design. So overall, a solid 3*

Superb wines. Superb service. Superb food with a not-tooooo-long menu. Specials of the day are, indeed, special...so listen carefully! Charming Bistro atmosphere with nice neighbors (always). Make no mistake...it would be a mistake NOT to go here. An absolute MUST for the value-for-money lovers.
