Karstadt Lebensmittel

We had trouble finding the grocery store within Karstadt. From the Mönckebergstraße entrance, go up a half-floor, turn left and then right. It is a full-sized gourmet grocery. I understand that it is managed by Rewe, but there are many different products from Rewe, and also different from Kaufhof (who now own Karstadt). Some people have mentioned an American foods section, but it is quite small. Swiss Miss (why on earth would you buy this when there is so much better hot chocolate in Germany?!), Frank’s Red Hot Sauce, various BBQ sauces and the like. There are a few other American brands throughout the store: Lay’s, Kettle, Dr Pepper, etc. The wine and spirits section is wonderful, as are the cheese and meat sections. It is a very pleasurable shopping experience. The prices are a bit higher than other markets, but not appreciably so.
