My Grandfather is buried here with his Lancaster crew. They were shot down in 1943 and buried near lake Constance and then moved and re interred in the 60s. It's a wonderfully thoughtful place, kept immaculate by the CWGC. Bless them.

I got to visit Durnbach during the summer, and like other reviews it's a solemn, humble and dignified end to many young men's lives tragically cut short by war located near the foothills of the Alps. The groundskeepers keep the cemetery immaculate and many graves in perfect condition throughout the year. There's a book there to sign and also find where a relatives plot is. Something worth noting is if the headstones are positioned very close together, it means the air crewmen are buried in a collective plot.
