This Hertz location is excellent. They are always on top of the reservation details and they do a good job of keeping track of the VAT forms and letting you know what's coming up. I have been very impressed with their attention to detail.

Rarely write reviews but horrible customer service. The 2 women working had really bad attitudes and weren't knowledgeable about their fleet. Almost every question I asked was answered with attitude as if I was bothering them for trying to rent a car. I just dont get it. How do people like that keep their job.

Absolutely terrible! Go anywhere else! First they gave us a vehicle with a terribly cracked window-“only car left,” even though we booked 4 weeks in advance. We spent an entire day taking it in to be repaired for them because it was unsafe to drive, and they wouldn’t take care of it (at first they wanted us to drive 6 hrs away to trade it in, but we talked to another hertz location who set up the repair). They said they would refund that day since we had to spend all day getting the windshield replaced-which they never did. Then they charged us the wrong rate and said they’d fix it when we brought it back, just to be told they can’t do that and we have to call the 800 number to get a partial refund. Then 5 months after our trip we get an email stating there was damage to the car (scratch under the mirror) and they want $1500 to fix it! We are covered through our CC company, but I feel like this is something they do to make money off of Americans who don’t purchase their extra insurance. We have pictures of the car when we turned it in, and no scratch! These people are crooks, do yourself a favor and rent from another company. I will be reporting their fraudulent behavior.

I rented from Hertz because it was supposed to be reasonably priced and I only needed the car for 1 week. I received a car that was never cleaned from the previous person and didn't have a full tank of gas. I didn't really care at the time, because I just needed to go. I returned the car with a full tank of gas and within a few hours I was told I was being charged 250 euro for a scratch on the rims that is tinier than a fingernail that I don't think I did. I was driving on country roads the entire time so I do not know where the scratch came from, and Hertz clearly does not replace rims after scratches as it was identified before I drove that there were scratches on the rims. It could have happened prior to me even getting it, but the scratch is so tiny I never noticed it! I do not have a lot of experience of renting cars and figured Hertz would be a good start. But I will not be going through them again. All in all, for 1 week the car costed over $700.

I rented a car from this place using USAA. When I picked up the car and which I was in a rush. I was told the car had no damages and clean. I walked outside to pick up the car and it was filthy. Inside and out. The car looked like it had been dragged through the mud with pets in it. I went back in to inform the personnel and the woman had an attitude. My wife looks very American. She has lived in Germany all her life and of course she is fluent in her language. She over heard the woman tell the male cleaner in German “These customers are annoying! Will you clean the car so they can go!” I will add that the male cleaner was courteous and apologized. She did not. We had to leave in a hurry so we had to leave with the car in that condition. Come to find out there was pre-existing damage to the vehicle hard to spot through the dirt. We called and reported the damage. Since we had already signed in a rush. We are now responsible for the damage. Obviously that part is Defoe you ours. Just don’t sign at the desk make sure to go to the car first. A horrible experience but enough for me too never use this company again.
