Small veterinary practice Dr. Barth

Brought our small dog in with diarrhea. Dr Barth barely examined him. Was rushing in and out of the room. I started my own dogs IV because she gave up after one try. She gave us a small amount of IV fluid and an antibiotic. Gave us no instructions on what to do if things got worse or where to take him. When things got worse we took him to a 24-hour animal hospital that same evening. They explained that this level of diarrhea in a dog that size required immediate hospitalization and that had we brought him in earlier they probably would have been able to save him. Instead he died and Dr Barths only follow up was to hound us for the couple of hundred euros she charged for his non care. In our experience Dr Barth is fully capable of handling routine checkups and shots, but she routinely underplays the severity of anything serious, seems to panic and just assume/wish everything to be fine and then sends you on your way without proper care. We had this happen twice in our experience with her, the second time leading to the death of our dog. But, don’t worry...if her failure to properly care for your dog directly results in his death she’ll still send you a bill every week until you finally relent and pay her. Stay far away from Dr Barth.
