Schloßbergterrasse Bistro & Café Cochem

After climbing up the hill from downtown Cochem to the castle, this cafe is a good place to rest and have a cup of tea or coffee. They offer a variety of drinks, cakes and ice cream. Staff is very helpful and friendly. All required Covid-19 measures are performed and tables are cleaned after each guest. We can definitely recommend this location, especially for the whipped cream 😁

I celebrated my birthday here and ordered my cake that they made beforehand. it was beautiful and delicious cake. she did a really great job. I super reccomend this place. also I requested a cochem castle view. ot made everything so perfect.

Only cash. We had only a bankcard. We suggested a banktransfer but not accepted. They let me walk 1km hill down and up to get cash.

Expensive, small portions and not cozy. Pay attention! Pay only in cash. Is not clearly indicated, only on the menu. But you don't look at that if you're already sitting down and hungry or thirsty. And that in corona times in 2020. Explanation was: there is no internet above. But the 4G came in smoothly on my mobile phone and nearby you could pin. When I proposed to take cash out of the wall a little further on, they became suspicious. My children had to stay on the spot or I had to hand in my identity card. That was unacceptable to me and then the man's kindness disappeared like snow in the sun, angry and rude to use the words. After all, I gave my car keys and went to get money. He would have received that money without those keys. If customers cannot pay in cash, you must clearly indicate this when they come in, so they can still make a choice. Not if they are already sitting down and getting the menu. Stay away from it!

Nice cafe / restaurant. Here, attention is paid to distance rules and not just to profit! Service was friendly and all types of cake were incredibly delicious! Please keep working - we felt safe!
