I WILL REPORT THAT FOR FRAUD! I am on recommendation with an old music cabinet in the shop in Brauneberg. Actually a PC shop, but one of the technicians would have experience with such things. I was then told in the store that you could look at it but gave me no guarantee that they would get it going again. Then, a week and a half later, a call back that the device could not be repaired, the "transmission" was porous and there were no spare parts. Since I had already repaired the device a lot, I was taken aback and did some research myself. Spare parts are quite easy to get, sometimes even as new goods. I would also have been surprised, because this has never been a problem with Grundig phono devices, even with very old devices. I also had no memory of plastic parts, actually the Perpetuum Ebner Rex turntable built into it is a very robust device, all parts are made of very stable metal, apart from the drive belt. So when I picked them up, I asked again more precisely. The person who allegedly tried to repair the device told me that the pinion that drives the platter is made of plastic and the grooves are very porous. There were no spare parts, he didn't want to remove them, because everything would be so porous that the entire transmission would otherwise have broken. In addition, he actually wanted money from me to open and look at the device, even though he hadn't repaired anything. When I got home, I immediately opened the device from above and below. THERE IS NO "PINION"! And besides the pickup and the switch on the speed controller, there are no plastic parts installed! Everything made of metal, and everything very robust. So called the shop again, but the person there does not abandon his claim. So I contacted the gramophone museum, which I know has a lot of models with the Perpetuum Ebner Rex there and technicians who do nothing else all day but repair such old devices. Also from there the confirmation "The technician had no idea. There are no sprockets or plastic parts on the model." In addition, instructions for maintenance of the device. My conclusion: The device never seemed to be opened. You had no idea about such devices (which I do not even blame, hardly anyone can repair devices from before 1980, since everyone only learns electronics but no mechanics - you could have just honestly said that) and tried to tell me as a "layman" in the belief that I had no idea anyway, so that I could still earn a few euros for the alleged "assessment", which clearly never took place. I will file a complaint about fraud.
