Great destination. I was there with two kids (3 & 8 years). First we went from the parking lot the forest road. After about 1000m on the right side there is a large former dump with a 30m high beech. There we searched for stones and found many. Then we went to the visitor mine. There was both a knowledgeable and lovely guide in the open pit and in the tunnel. Then you can still hike to the copper hut. This is located on top of the mountain. Here are the Pfälzer Wander intelligently homemade cakes and home-style cooking for a small price. The view is wonderful. Finally, I recommend a visit to the museum. Here you can admire quartz and mining utensils. Overall, a very cheap and great trip. Ideal for families with children.

In itself pleasant to visit, very nice staff but unfortunately very short time in the mine, if at all 30min. But a lot of information about tools and demonstration of a machine. Conclusion good to visit for larger groups such as schools or clubs.

The mine itself is worth seeing. Only the staff had no leadership qualities during our visit. The tour should take about an hour. After two hours of boring explanations, we simply didn't feel like visiting the Maria pit or the museum. Children were not discussed at all. There is a board at the ticket desk with information about the next tour - only there is nothing on it! So when a group is in the mountain, you stand as a visitor in front of closed doors.
