Very bad interior and the teachers are very rude. The students are not exactly exemplary. I personally would not let my children go to this school. I can emulate the Goethe Gymnasium very much.

The school is treated as an "elite school" and the school management does everything to maintain this image. The lessons are no more demanding than anywhere else, and the Abitur is equivalent in the end. You can still tell that the school was once a girls' school. Boys are systematically sorted out here. For example, my class started with 14 boys at the beginning and ended up with 5, although a few have been added. Already in the 5th grade I was demotivated by the teachers, they told me I had chosen the wrong type of school (by the way, I had a very good average). As a boy, you are consistently rated worse by some teachers, with the same performance. No teacher gives the quiet girl in the back row the 5, but boys probably don't have moral inhibitions. The fact that many teachers have recently left the school and new ones have come has done the teaching quality very good. The legal system within the school is extremely unjust and opaque. One becomes a victim of bullying here. It is always hammered in "just don't cause any problems" and if what happens is not differentiated between victim and perpetrator, bullying in general is ignored and 10 anti-racism projects are started which are then in the newspaper. School finances are opaque. For example, we were promised a "multisport field" with basketball hoops, a floor and soccer goals, which has now been half-finished for years in the Max Grewe playground. The digital equipment and competence is largely pathetic. The PCs all run on Windows 7 and they often do not work and you can then do your tasks at home. Send your child to the HVK in Gerthe. Since my brother goes to school there, I can only recommend this school. Don't think you have to send your child to Bochum's "Elite School", this image has long been out of date

I graduated from high school here a few years ago. If anything is taught here, it is conscientiousness. It is extremely important. Unfortunately, the students pay a high price for this: For good grades you have to do a lot. In addition, the teachers are often a lot stricter than necessary. Disciplinary action is taken too quickly. An example of the disproportionate severity: On the so-called "Girls day" (which was then supplemented by the Boys day), all students were required to complete a 1-day internship. No serious company organizes an internship for one day. As a result, many students simply got a signature from any company that they were in the company that day. The rest of the students went to school that day. After the teachers loudly announced to the attending students what a disappointment they were, applications for unemployment benefit were handed out. Someone who cannot find an internship will probably not find a job later, was the line of thought behind it. But there are also good teachers. Overall, in my opinion, one can accept the questionable measures, since the sense of duty that is taught here is simply worth it.

So from my experience the Goethe School is much better. I mean, the students alone are much nicer.

Short version. Incompetent teachers. A director who only wants to make money with the students. Building is falling apart but the main thing is flat screen TVs that are used once a year ...
