I am thinking about buying electric car. I read a lot about e-Golf, e-UP and soon upcoming ID.3. I read about preorders of ID.3, that cheapest version should be under 30k Euro, "30 Tage Mietwagen für e-Kunden von Volkswagen", etc. So I decided to visit "Volkswagen Zentrum Duisburg" to clarify some of outsdanding questions like for example if they participate in "30 Tage Mietwagen für e-Kunden von Volkswagen", how it looks like in details, what kind of financing they offer, what about car trade in etc. At the beginning it was promising. "einfach elektrisch" slogans on windows, wallboxes on display. "I came to right place" - I thought. After entering the building and looking around for some time nobody approached us. As the time was running my wife approached information and asked nice lady "who could answer some questions about buying electric cars". Lady directed us to the 4 gentelmens which were standing by the desk and talking. We didn't want to be rude and bother them, but when lady from information instructed us to ask them, we did. I am writing that review in English, as my English is better than German, but my wife German is perfect. So my wife asked them in German if they could help us with buying electric cars, preferably in English (for me). That did not go well. The reply was that there is nobody that could help us in English, they have no English leaflets, there is nobody who is trained in answering questions about electirc cars, they don't have any electric cars and they will not be selling ones until end of year. We would be perfectly fine in using German language, but simply no offer of any more assistance was given - even if answering question about possible financing options or car trade in should not be a problem. So right now I don't really know if "Volkswagen Zentrum Duisburg" is really such a bad place for people which would like to buy electric VW and that gentelments were just honest, or maybe we just were treated badly because we are foreigners, or maybe there was some reason for such a unhelpul treatment. Even if visiting 'Volkswagen Zentrum Duisburg' was my worst experience in Germany and total waste of time I give two stars due to doubts.
