My experiences with the furrier Weidner were extremely bad; the skinning is not (more) recommended: In September 2018, he accepted my assignment to feed the sleeveless, knee-length hamster lining of a coat from my mother-in-law, who had just died, and to sew in handkerchiefs; I wanted to wear the fur in memory of my mother-in-law as a long, loose-fitting vest. I have not explicitly commissioned a meticulous repair of the fur; it was clear that the vest should be made of used fur. The fur is sufficiently useful, and the makeover would definitely be worth it, says the furrier. At the latest in mid-November the knee-length vest is ready. After six weeks (and some inquiries) finally the fitting; Now the vest should be ready in the next 2 weeks. The production date, however, shifted from week to week; Mr Weidner complained about missing staff and that he was already retired and had imagined anything else at all. After several further date postponements, the vest should be picked up at the beginning of January 2019 finally. This appointment was a disaster: on the one hand, the appointment of Mr. Weidner was merely intended as a further try-on appointment of an unchanged unfinished vest, on the other he had shortened the former knee-length vest on pile length and sewn a drawstring with ribbons in the waist. This was supposed to have been commissioned, which is absurd. Unfortunately, I have not fixed the order in writing (because he seemed to me very simple: just sew in lining and pockets), so I can probably ask for no compensation for the fur. I have to assume that Mr. Weidner (who seemed to me at least quantitatively overwhelmed) has messed up two orders, which brings me the knee-length vest but not back. I can not judge whether the work that Mr. Weidner has done on the pelt meets the standards of craftsmanship, but he has, with miserable time management, acted contrary to orders and disputes with a totally unacceptable result. His repeated statement that he is the only furrier in Schwerin, is irrelevant and no justification for his poor order processing. I took the fur in the state he was in and canceled the order. Mr. Weidner did not demand money for his work.
