After my experience with the AVIS service in Landau Der Pfalz, I feel obliged to inform AVIS about the level of service (or the lack of one), which I can find in the Service Center Landau Der Pfalz at Neustadter Str. 22. This level of service is something that a service company like AVIS shouldn't be known for and that will certainly influence my choice of rental car services in the future. On October 30th, I ordered a mid-range car online from AVIS, which I picked up at the AVIS service center in Landau Der Pfalz at Neustadter Str. 22 and returned to Dortmund Fredenbaum, Evingerstrasse 35. The rental period that I entered on the AVIS website was from the same day as the booking on October 30th to the next day on October 31st. When I received my order confirmation by email, I found that the dates did not match my planned rental period. It could have been an error on my part, which could easily be rectified and remedied in the service center in Landau Der Pfalz. I went to the service center and was delighted with Mr. M. M. He informed me that there was absolutely nothing he could do, no available cars and no other options to rent from another point of sale or anything. I asked if he could cancel my booking. His repetition was that he was unable to do this since I had placed the order on the internet. I should change my booking myself and see what is possible. I have to add that Hern. M.M. Discouragement was absolutely negative without trying to find solutions to my query. I went to the option to change the order on my rental order confirmation that I had received and tried to change the AVIS order online. The result was a message that, according to AVIS Internet booking site I, it was not possible to cancel this order for reasons of time. It was not permitted to make changes to this booking within 24 hours of the actual rental period. Now I had a new schedule that I couldn't change due to the rental car problems. My only option was to adapt my meetings to the new travel arrangements. I managed to align my meetings with the new rental car timeframe. I had no communication from AVIS and was therefore confident that the rental car booking had been made and that everything should be in order. I came to the AVIS service center shortly after 8:00 a.m. and hoped that I could get the rental car a little earlier in order to be on time for my meetings. I was again greeted by Mr. M.M. Great. He informed me that he had canceled my rental car booking and that there were again no options to find solutions to my immediate problem. I asked him why he canceled my order when he specifically told me that he could not do this in the service center. There weren't many answers and his demeanor was defensive and rude. I have to note that at this point in time I had not received a notification from AVIS that my rental car order had been changed or had changed anyway. I was now on the road with no means of transport and my meeting schedule had no chance of being kept. At this point, the damage to me and the company I work for is considerable. There's no way of knowing if this is fixable or when (if at all) I can reschedule my meetings. At 8:40 am I received a rental car cancellation from AVIS. Thank you for nothing, Mr. M.M. I am writing this letter in the hope that something can be learned from it and possibly prevent this from happening to anyone else who relies on the services of AVIS.

The car was not completely full, but was reimbursed without any problems. Car cleanliness when picking up leaves something to be desired. Staff very friendly!

Nothing to complain about. Pick-up could be faster, but that is always a bit more complex at rental car stations. But I have experienced worse.
