I belong to the high school class of 1988. I have fond memories of the school. Even though I wasn't a good student. At that time there was a small kiosk in the school building, in the back of the school building. The milk rolls were great as far as I can remember. The cocoa was okay too. The woman who ran the little school kiosk was called Frau Klein and had dark blonde curly hair. There was no cafeteria back then. Outside the school building, which is of course an absolute aesthetic disaster from an architectural point of view and looks remarkably repellent from the outside, as if a giant meteorite had accidentally hit Niederpleis, there was a kiosk that was operated by shady people. Sometimes their tone was a bit rough, but they didn't hurt you. I think back then I found the kiosk operators a bit anti-social. Maybe because I came from a sheltered family background and as a shy, privileged boy with a tendency to arrogance, I thought I had to have an idea of what anti-social people should look like. Today I am much more humble about this than I was before. When I was a student at the AEG and plowed through (school) life with an utter carelessness and carelessness. As an agile, pubescent schoolboy, I regularly bought apple-flavored fizzy lollipops, bacon and smileys at this kiosk. The dark red or purple smileys were my favorite variety, followed by the green ones. They were real seal pullers. Fortunately, I didn't have any seals back then. 10 groschen per smiley went into the powerful hands of the kiosk owner. I also remember that the man of hers, who looked very unhealthy, always combed his hair back strictly with pomade. Was a different world then. The FRG was the FRG. The GDR was the GDR. There is no question of reunification. Of course there were also many whistles in the teaching staff back then who would have been better off not becoming teachers and where one could definitely speak of a solid lack of professionalism. No, had to. Including empathic autism. But sponge over it. Since the memory paints with a golden brush, the good remains in the memory, the teachers who were humanly okay: I am thinking of the sports teachers Schöberl and Freisen. To Mr. Simon, my English teacher, whose credo was: Challenge and encourage. And funding was by no means neglected. I have fond memories of Ms. Klose because she did not fail an important check-up. I found that very okay in human terms. I also have positive memories of Mr. Steeger and Mr. Denter. Also to Mr. Siegloch, although he insisted on reproaching my poor point yield from the oral math exams. The white boards in the classrooms were considered avant-garde at the time. But I don't have positive memories of that. Actually, they don't trigger anything in me, except that, in my perception at the time, the white walls weren't able to contribute to a comfortable classroom atmosphere. The panorama windows, however, had something of course. In front of the scientific building complex, which now doesn't exude any architectural sensuality, but rather a sterile scientific rigor, I always had cuffs. I would have liked to have avoided that. But you couldn't do without the subjects of physics and chemistry. Before the classes in said subjects, I often had liquid stools. And stomach cramps. Otherwise? It was a different time. Another Germany. No Greta madness and no cancel culture madness. At that time I liked the simple, the banal. Pick up fries at the kiosk at lunchtime after school and then play football in the sports hall. Or play volleyball. That was fun. I'm getting nostalgic right now. I wish the students who are currently attending the AEG that they survive the Corona period well and that they will soon have normal school operations again.

Hello, I cannot recommend the Albert-Einstein-Gymnasium in Sankt Augustin !! Nobody dares to go to the toilets because the hammers are dirty. The caretakers don't mind either. They only yell at you when you are in their way. The school is really old and there is no internet, which really annoys the teaching. Even a few teachers are just unbearable because they just don't explain But there are also a few teachers who stand up for the students and do really good lessons. And to the school yard: Biggest dirt🤮 Even if they have now renovated the schoolyard, they haven't done anything new except a small climbing tower and new paving stones Our headmaster also ignores the concerns of the students and does not stand up for them. So, not a recommended school. I'm happy when I finish my Abitur and leave ...

Not recommended! ... My child doesn't feel accepted there and is not supported by the teachers (with the exception of a few) ...
