Grave and memorial of Friedrich August Wengenroth in the Usingen cemetery, on Friedhofsweg near the castle park. It was made into an obelisk from sandstone and is a listed building. He was born in Reifenberg on April 29, 1808 and died in Usingen on February 1, 1883. Here he worked as a doctor and surgeon. From 1843 until his death in 1883 he was president of the Usinger gymnastics club. He achieved fame as the leader of the voluntary medical corps Usingen and Anspach, which provided aid on both sides in the Franco-German War of 1870/71, in line with the humanitarian idea of ​​Henri Dunant.
