I came from Canada as a tourist. My cousin and I wanted to know what German clubs were like. The bouncer denied us entry. I asked someone why they would deny us entry. They told us because we weren’t German enough. I asked what that means and I was told be a little whiter. The worse part was the bouncer looked middle eastern. I’ve never experienced discrimination but this place was a prime example.

The other day (Saturday) I was out with friends and we thought we'd go to the Nice Bar. We were there about every other weekend and everything was relaxed. The staff was nice and everything was right. When we recently wanted to go to the Nice Bar again, we were turned away because we looked too "sporty" for a Saturday evening. I had a simple black hoodie (it was cold outside) and elegant trousers combined with white shoes. 0815 Style of every young adult. Especially when we arrived we were told that we had to wait an hour. We then waited an hour to get a seat. We were turned away because of our so-called "sporty" style. I know, unimaginable in 2020. The people who sat inside looked no different from us. I've had a bad day, but that really gave me the edge.
