Dillingen, Waldfriedhof - Ehrenfriedhof, War Cemetery

A few months ago I had a loved one buried in a tree grave, as this kind of funeral was offered as a novelty in this cemetery. I realized with horror that the urn of a stranger was taken into the same grave, which is covered with a bronze disc, on which now two different name plaques are attached, so I have discovered only this additional burial. When I stunned a lady at the local nursery, she asked me if I did not know that, which of course I denied. Then I called the city administration, there they wanted to take care of the matter and call me back, which did not happen until today. I bought this tree grave for 20 years because we wanted a nature-loving burial. There was never any talk of strangers being buried in this grave within this time, neither in the contract of sale nor in the prospectus promoting tree graves, was it pointed out, otherwise I would have chosen a cemetery! I am deeply disturbed and feel this procedure as scandalous and irreverent. Also in our circle of friends one reacts with bewilderment, many call this the grave desecration! If you offer this type of burial in a cemetery, then you should also provide for a sufficient number of tree graves, this procedure sounds like mass grave for lack of space! In addition, I would like to add that, after I personally described the situation to the mayor of the city of Dillingen, or at the same time the then responsible undertaker also worked for me, I was offered a Umbettung in a still free lying tree grave, which I then also availed. It was not the perfect solution, but the fastest! The reburial then took place in my presence, at a time that I could choose. Meanwhile there are additional tree diggers in an outer circle. I really like to visit this cemetery, it is beautifully landscaped, almost like a small park!
